route #13: Niagara Falls to New York, New York

The route we chose wasn’t the fastest one but we wanted to approach New York from the North driving along Hudson River. The plan was to stop if time allowed in Dia: Beacon but when we arrived it was closed – it closes at 6.00PM. From Niagara Falls we took I-90 East: Syracuse, Utica, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Albany, and then turned left on Taconic State Parkway...

Crown Heights, a central hipster borough of Brooklyn. We spent a couple of days there before moving in Bay Ridge, in the southwest corner of Brooklyn. Apparently “Tony” Manero (John Travolta) used to live there and dance every Saturday night at the local bar…

Breakfast at Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream and Steve’s bagels in Bay Ridge. A stop at MOMA , a must, every time. Lunch at Sunrise Mart – Japanese sushi – and, since we love anything Japanese, dinner at Bassanova Ramen for good warm noodle soup. Next day a visit at Whitney Museum of American Art: the New Whitney…
